Shaping our State's future
  • Yagan Square’s annual activation calendar centred around the Noongar six seasons, with event organisers encouraged to use Aboriginal suppliers and contractors.

  • Alkimos Central’s Aboriginal Cultural Advisors finalised a Cultural Context and draft Cultural Heritage Management Plan, expected to be complete in 2023.

  • Nationally-recognised Aboriginal Development Manager program continued to facilitate engagement, economic and employment opportunities at Subi East.

  • Continued to work with the Yawuru Traditional Owners on the next stages of Broome North.

  • Internal RAP Working Group assisted in the implementation and progression of our RAP commitments – including establishing subcommittees to focus on specific areas such as cultural awareness training, events and communications, procurement, employment and governance.

  • Completed our annual RAP Report to Reconciliation Australia.

Governance
  • Met with the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council, newly formed Prescribed Body Corporates, and other Western Australian Land and Sea Councils and Corporations to ensure Heritage and Native Title obligations on our South West projects are being met.

  • 31 staff attended ‘Acknowledge This – Delivering an Acknowledgement of Country with Authenticity’ training.

  • Whadjuk Noongar Elders invited to all staff briefings to provide a Welcome to Country.

  • Virtual Cultural Insights course, delivered by Jolleen Hicks, rolled out to all staff. 

Respect
  • NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week recognised through a series of staff events.

  • Members of the Noongar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Reconciliation WA, Supply Nation and the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council.

  • Attended the Reconciliation Australia RAP national leadership gatherings.
