In June 2022, the DevelopmentWA Board endorsed our Social Housing Strategy which aims to support Government targets across four strategic focus areas:

•      Social housing policy

•      Land for social housing

•      Social housing dwellings

•      Collaboration and innovation

In line with the State Government’s target of 4,000 new social dwellings, this year has seen a strong pivot towards fast-tracked delivery of affordable and social homes.

Science and Innovation Precincts

Science and Innovation Precincts are a feature of the global race to attract and develop innovative industries, providing opportunities for co-location, investment, and economic development.

Economic Development

A key driver of the Industrial Lands Authority program is the delivery of land to support job creation and economic development, ranging from the planning and delivery of Strategic Industrial Areas to supplying light and general industrial land to support local economies.

Regional Development Assistance Program

Infrastructure and servicing costs can challenge development in regional Western Australia. The Regional Development Assistance Program (RDAP) was established to help address this hurdle.

Regional Centres

A cornerstone of the Regional Program is the delivery of transformational projects to facilitate economic diversification and employment self-sufficiency in regional centres, along with the housing needed to support these local economies.

Throughout regional Western Australia, we work with local governments, development commissions and Aboriginal corporations to support local economic development, job creation and housing options for current and future residents.

Master-planned Precincts

We have legislated planning powers to drive revitalisation across five major redevelopment areas: Central Perth, Armadale, Midland, Scarborough and Subiaco.

Master-planned Precincts

Across the metropolitan area, we’re delivering master-planned precincts with access to housing, jobs and amenities close to home.

Our Metropolitan Program focuses on the creation of sustainable, well-connected communities – delivering homes and amenities in the locations they’re most needed to support Perth and Peel’s future population of 3.5 million people.
