Within WA’s Kimberley region, Broome North is providing housing, community and business opportunities for the future expansion of the town. It will provide the majority of Broome’s medium to long-term land supply, ultimately housing around 12,500 residents, as well as schools, tourism, light industrial and retail/commercial opportunities.
Waranyjarri Estate, Broome North
In 2022-23, Roadline Civil Contractors were appointed to complete Broome North’s Waranyjarri Stage 11 civil works, which were fast-tracked in response to high demand for residential homesites.
Stage 11 includes a childcare site adjacent to the existing Broome North Primary School. In December 2022, TysonJoe Pty Ltd was announced as the preferred proponent to deliver and operate this childcare centre, which is expected to open its doors in 2025.
Within the existing Waranyjarri neighbourhood, 12 lots have been earmarked for social housing, with an additional 11 lots for Government Regional Officer Housing.
